Chocolate Mochi Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour (mochiko)
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk or water
  • 50g melted dark chocolate
  • Cornstarch/potato starch (for dusting)

Optional filling:

  • Nutella or chocolate ganache

Steps

  • In a bowl, mix rice flour, cocoa powder, and sugar.
  • Add milk and melted chocolate, then whisk until the batter becomes smooth.
  • Microwave for 2–3 minutes, stir well, then cook again for another 2–3 minutes until a sticky dough forms.
  • Dust a surface with cornstarch and let the dough cool slightly.
  • Divide the dough into small pieces. If desired, add Nutella or chocolate ganache filling in the center.
  • Shape into balls and dust lightly with cornstarch before serving.

  • Prep: 10 mins
  • Cook: 5–7 mins
  • Cooling: 15 mins
    Total: about 30 mins
